Kristen Lee is an educator who received her Bachelor's degree in History at UCLA and her Master's degree in Education (as well as a multiple subjects teaching credential) at UC Berkeley's Developmental Teacher Education Program.

She taught first/second, third/fourth, and fourth grades for five years at Escondido Elementary school in Palo Alto before attending the California History-Social Science Project's Technology Academy for Teachers of Teachers in 1992. It was at this academy that Kristen created her unit "And They Came to the Streets That Were Paved With Gold," which consisted of a HyperCard stack and a Student Packet. This unit was disseminated throughout the Palo Alto Unified School District, and Kristen presented the unit at both the CCSS (California Council for Social Studies) and CUE (Computer Using Educators) conferences that year. Kristen re-worked her original "And They Came to the Streets That Were Paved With Gold" unit into a webquest in the fall of 2000.

After teaching in the classroom for five years, Kristen went on to teach 6th, 7th, and 8th graders technology at the American School in London before returning to the Bay Area.

She took over the Addison Elementary school's computer lab for two and a half years before retiring from the classroom to spend more time with her family.

Recently, she served as the director of the UC Berkeley California History-Social Science Project's first ever Technology Academy.
